For completely edentulous jaws dental implants can make a great difference. Basically there are two options for implant retained protheses:
The most common solution would be an implant-retained removable denture. Two or better four implants hold the denture in place and thus prevent movement in the mouth which is a huge problem for most bearers of lower full dentures.
Alternatively a fixed implant-retained bridge can be mounted on four or six implants and prevent a removable denture altogether.
